Anticipated attack slows responses in a cued virtual attack emotional Sternberg Task

چکیده

Threatening stimuli have varying effects, including reaction time (RT) increase in working memory tasks. This could reflect disruption of or, alternatively, a reversible state freezing. In the current series experiments, slowing due to anticipated threat was studied using cued Virtual Attack Emotional Sternberg Task (cVAEST). this task visually neutral cues indicate whether future virtual attack or not occur during maintenance period task. Three studies (N = 47, 40, and respectively) were performed by healthy adult participants online. The primary hypothesis that cVAEST would evoke anticipatory slowing. Further, aimed explore details novel task, particular interval between cue probe set size. all it found anticipation slowed RTs on Study 1 (memory size 3) showed decrease RT when occurred over Cue Stimulus Intervals (CSIs). 2 minimal one item used, under which circumstances following attacks only faster shortly after presentation (CSI 200 500 ms), high for both safe cues. 3 replicated results with more fine-grained intervals. confirm can reversibly slow responses an independent may provide useful method study such threat-induced response

A Mechanism for Detecting and Identifying DoS attack in VANET

VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) which is a hy- brid network (combination of infrastructure and infra- structure-less networks) is an emergent technology with promising future as well as great challenges especially in security. By the other hand this type of network is very sensible to safety problem. This paper focuses on a new mechanism for DoS (denial of service) attacks on the physical and ...

Heart attack or rhabdomyolysis?

Statins are commonly used drugs in the treatment of hyperlipidemia (HL), despite some undesirable side effects. These range from mild symptoms such as myopathy, muscle weakness and myalgia to severe muscle weakness associated with chronic myopathy and acute renal failure (ARF) as a result of rhabdomyolysis. The most serious and deadly side effect of statins is rhabdomyolysis. The case presente...

A two-phase wormhole attack detection scheme in MANETs

Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) have no fixed infrastructure, so all network operations such as routing and packet forwarding are done by the nodes themselves. However, almost all common existing routing protocols basically focus on performance measures regardless of security issues. Since these protocols consider all nodes to be trustworthy, they are prone to serious security threats. Wormhole...

Support Vector Machine based Intelligent Watermark Decoding for Anticipated Attack

In this paper, we present an innovative scheme of blindly extracting message bits from an image distorted by an attack. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to nonlinearly classify the bits of the embedded message. Traditionally, a hard decoder is used with the assumption that the underlying modeling of the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients does not appreciably change. In case of an ...

Attack-Aware Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks under Byzantine Attack

Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) is an effective approach to overcome the impact of multi-path fading and shadowing issues. The reliability of CSS can be severely degraded under Byzantine attack, which may be caused by either malfunctioning sensing terminals or malicious nodes. Almost, the previous studies have not analyzed and considered the attack in their models. The present study introduc...
